NBA commissioner Adam Silver believes it`s time for the league to appoint its first female head coach.


Silver shared his expectations for when this will happen.


"I would be very disappointed if within the next five years we don`t see the first female head coach in the NBA, " Silver said.


Over the 76-year history of the NBA, 15 women have served as assistant coaches.


There are five female assistant coaches in the league by profit soccer picks today: Jenny Buczek (Indiana), Lindsay Harding (Sacramento), Sonia Raman (Minnesota), Christy Toliver (Dallas) and Teresa Witherspoon (New Orleans).


It was believed that Becky Hammon could become the first woman to head an NBA club, but after several seasons with the Spurs, she moved to the WNBA.
