Symonds has resigned as technical director of Formula 1.
Pat Symonds, who served as F1`s technical director for seven years, has left his position.


The specialist became one of the top managers of F1 in 2017 and contributed to the development of the regulations for 2022 and 2026. Pat previously worked at Benetton, Renault, Virgin and Williams. The specialist is known for Crashgate, the scandal involving the deliberate accident of Nelson Piquet Jr. at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.


Symonds made his decision a long time ago and has already gone on forced leave; F1 employees were informed of this news on Monday, the publication reports. The series has not yet officially confirmed the information.
