Christian Fuchs has retired from football.


The 36-year-old defender announced his retirement from football. He played 19 seasons for 7 clubs at the professional level.


In total, the Austrian made 577 appearances in his club career, scoring 37 goals and providing 83 assists. He also played 78 times for the Austrian national team.


Fuchs played for Wiener Neustadt, Mattersburg, Bochum, Mainz, Schalke, Leicester and Charlotte. In 2016, he became the champion of England with Leicester.


It has been an incredible journey for me and my family. Not only have we celebrated great successes over the years, but we have also been able to learn from some amazing people along this journey.
